Mr. Pingel was born in Bay City, Michigan. His childhood home was Lansing, Michigan. He attended Our Savior Lutheran School in Lansing for grades 1-8, and Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw for high school. He attended Jr. College at Bethany Lutheran in Mankato and College at Dr. Martin Luther in New Ulm.
He has had experience as the teacher of grades 3-5 at St. John's in Fairfax, Minnesota and has taught grades 4-7 here at St. Stephen's.
Mr. Pingel and his wife, Judy, have two children: Suzanne and Timothy, both graduates of Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota.
